Greetings from South Africa!                                                                                                                                                                              01 Dec.2006

Last week Thanksgiving Day was celebrated both in America and in the Andrews' house in Pretoria! Beginning with our trip to the US many months ago, Louise has been planning to give me a real American Thanksgiving Day celebration with ALL the goodies - turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie and whatever else I wanted. She printed out a spreadsheet with all the dishes, ingredients, and cooking times to make sure that all went well (see photo). Well, she did it, and also provided her parents with their very first experience of a Thanksgiving Day dinner. Not wanting to brag too much about my WOOOOOOONDERFUL wife, let me just say that she did GOOD! (In one of the photos you will see a candid shot of me - wearing my not-so-elegant pumpkin colored T-shirt - praying for strength to eat more.) To top the whole thing off, she had found a shop with an American flag, which she bought and presented to me last night (see photo). Wow! We pinned it up on the curtains in the dining room, and there it continues to hang. We'll find a permanent spot for it soon.

No Thanksgiving Day is real unless there is a great deal of actual giving of thanks. We had a VERY large list of thanks to give, and one of the biggest was - and is - to the good people of St. Luke back in Kansas City. The elders met last week and voted to continue our support for another year, at a level higher than this year. WOW! Thank you to everyone who supports us and prays for us from both of us, from the bottom of our hearts.

FLASH UPDATE! Just today we FINALLY got wireless Internet access here at home!! We therefore immediately had the opportunity to read about the BIG snowstorm in the Midwest. We pray that all is well with all of you.

We love you!

With thanksgiving for the love and faithfulness of the Father and for all you who honor and obey Him.

Lary and Louise
