Greetings, everyone!

I've been having terrible trouble with my Internet, and am at the home of a friend now. I will soon upgrade my service to his level -- this is really nice (here!).

Last Saturday I went to the Presbytery meeting and met a pastor with only one leg (the other is off above the knee). He has five congregations out in the bush northwest of here, and only gets to two of those congregations every other month. He wants me to come visit some of them in the near future, and perhaps I will be able to help him. Erton is also stirred up to help. We will see what the Lord has in mind (for example, we would need a good, reliable vehicle to go to those places, particularly in bad weather).

We had some visitors come on Sunday after church (one of them, and her kids, is shown in one of the attached photos). Both ladies were very loyal to Erton during the time when his ministry was splitting. They both live in very small shacks (tin roof held down by rocks, everything gets wet when it rains, that sort of thing). There are thousands in such circumstances even in little Rustenburg, and millions in South Africa. What is amazing and humbling is the way these people carry on with their lives without complaining.

On Wednesday my friend Hans (it is his house where I am writing this) took me to a game park, and I got to see lots of beautiful country and wild animals. I've attached two pictures, one of the country and one of a wild animal (with suitable titles, as given in the file names).

I need to return to sociability rather than being buried in the computer. So, until next week,

Love from Africa

Lary
